Advice please....big brakes
Advice please from those that know about big brakes.
Sti7 with the 330 mm Brembos. Car has done 25K and the front discs need changing, so I plan an upgrade. (I already have the 18" Prodrive alloys)
Do I go for the 360mm, 6 pot kit from Hi Spec, or the big brake kit offered from AP racing. Car is used for fast road use and the odd track day; Once or twice a year…at most.
BTW; Hi Spec are just bringing out a 380 mm kit called the mega monster with 6 pots. Anyone know if this will fit under the 18's.

If you are not worried about the name on the side of these callipers then go for the hi-spec variety, if you are then buy the ap's, i am not too sure but i believe the ap's are a fraction lighter as a Kit than the hi-spec billet callipers but that is the full kit.
The Hi-spec callipers i am led to believe are a very good product, you may want to change the pads supplied wiuth the kit for track use but that is a ll i have heard adverse about them, The ap's i dont know of any one who moaned about them exept me! too dusty for me 22B, for out and out performance they are the daddy's the bells are redily available and so to the pads..i.e £65 ebc green stuff for the ap six pot!!! bargain price!!the disc's are too expensive for my liking but that is more because i am tight!!
You will need 19" wheels for those bid bu**ers thou, 355mm i am told is your lot for prodrive 18" ers... i would contact someone like RCMS for more technical advise.
