Default My usual joking aside here

I have warped front discs! I have been quoted £387.75 all in for:

Front Discs and black diamond pads.. or is it black diamond dics (discs even) and pads.

Anyway - does this sound fair?

My breaks are standard 2 pot (I know, dont say it)...

Ron... what you reckon?

Agree with Alyn (and he knows what he's talking about) - I would have thought around £200 ish for discs and pads, with fitting on top. I would suggest finding some yourself - AS Performance (Alyn's company I think) or ScoobyMania do good prices, and then sorting out fitting yourself, either DIY with some mates, or a local garage.

Best of luck.

Broken down, it was £200 for the discs - £87 for the pads (all 4 wheels I believe) and then labour at £80 plus VAT on the lot.

I guess looking at it this way, it all sounds ok then doesnt it

Aren't scoobies expensive. I paid £20 for a disc on my old escort

Are you getting two discs or four ? £200 for 4 is good, £200 for 2 is bad, unless they're super-dooper upgraded items of course. Still might be worth your while ringing round for prices on parts yourself, then getting this garage to fit for you for the quoted £80 + VAT.

Hope you get it sorted for the best price

Its only the front discs but they are uprated ones and the pads are top of the range.

Sounds excessive to me!! was that from the place you've used before??

you could get them fitted cheaper than that from a certain around these parts!!! possibly even outside your very own house!

No SG, I don't have your number, if you were to get the bit's, I can then fit them basically at your convenience, but more than likely at a weekend!!
You can mail me at impreza_dood@yahoo.co.uk if you wish!

Soulgirl,

I had the same problem, replaced with Mintex 8 grove discs and Mintex 1166 pads, on my 22b, by Triton. £172 for the discs and £110 for pads ex vat and labour. So far so good. Will see how they hold up on track in March.
