Default Braking Help/Advice Please.....

I drive a MY99 UK Turbo, with the 4-Pot brake set-up… Which is very good!

However, I have got a crack right through my front passenger side disc which I discovered last night after feeling a thud through the pedal and steering wheel when braking!!

I URGENTLY need replacement discs as I will be doing some spirited driving on Sunday and cannot go with a cracked disc…

I'll be looking for uprated discs with pads probably, I have seen an advert for Brembo Disks & Pads for £230 is this a decent price??

Are there any places that could do a decent deal on uprated discs & pads for my car, at around the same price, or cheaper if possible??

I wont touch EBC Stuff after hearing too many horror stories.

Cheers,
Grant

Drilled are for Rice Boys IMHO, unless they have the holes made through the casting process and not simply drilled through a solid disk.

I've heard of many a drilled disc with cracks developing from the drilled holes.

Personally, I'd stick with grooved ones. Godspeed do some std sized replacement disks.

Question

Excuse the ignorance , but what exactly is or constitutes a "rice boy"?

Well, my sarcastic interpretation is anyone who fits parts to a car purley for show.

e.g. AP 6-pots for going to the shops or 19" wheels.

AlanG,

You're the Rice Daddy The sheer fact you could eat your dinner off your engine bay tells us everything

Not yet ozzy, not yet. Don't have the 19's or pimps yet....

If only you knew what the car gets subjected to these days.... 'tis all an urban myth.

Interesting to see you have a cracked passenger side disc.. I drive a MY00 with std discs and Ferodo 2500 pads - Felt bad vibration on my brake pedal this morning so stopped and checked the discs - and guess what - a cracked front passenger disc ! From the research I had done before I was going to go for some grooved discs, like ozzy says - heard too many stories of cracks appearing in drilled discs.
