Brake Pad Wear on new car
#1
Hi, I have had my WRX from new and it's just been in for the 10,000 mile service and was told the front pads are 3/4 worn and will need changing fairly soon. Is this normal wear for a pair of new pads or should I beware????

I'm guessing then that they won't be on the list of things I can claim on my warranty????
Has anyone got any tips on better brake pads that won't void the warranty???

I had the same after my 10,000 service. Although I enjoy driving the car as much as anyone else, the majority of my miles are on the motorway, so I was a little suprised.
At the end of the day, I put it down to a combination of enjoyable A and B road driving and the (relatively) heavy weight of the Impreza.
Do a couple of trackdays and you'll know what pad wear is!

Forgot to say, have since upgraded to KAD 6 pot kit with Pagid pads, which are hard to fault.
Better wear rate? Difficult to say as usage includes a few track days here and there, but definately less dust!
