It has become time for me to replace the tyres on my standard UK spec MY00 turbo.
She is currently shod with Bridgestones which were on when I bought her.
I have been offered Toyo Proxes 205x50x16" at £77 fitted per corner. I think that sounds like a good price !!
I have had smaller versions of these tyres on less powerful FWD cars & thought very highly of them.
What is anyones opinion on them as to their suitability for use on a Scooby Turbo and what is anyones opinion on the price I have been quoted?

I'm running these, but on 18's. Am very happy with them. Partiularly in the wet. I think in general both the Toyo's and the Eagle F1's are highly rated.

i have just moved from pirelli p zero's to hankook ventus sport 104's, been on a coule of days now and yesterday had some country lane fun, the roads were damp and it was very cold, close to freezing the car seemed to handle very well and i noticed the grip difference

I have Toyo's fitted ,much better than the potenza's before, very grippy in dry and wet. Mine cost me a few pence short of £400 fitted and balanced/valves, so if i were you i'd go for it at the price you have.

id go for toyo's everytime.Have tried f1's and found them to be very nervous at the limit something that you don't want on public roads ok for the track.Have found the toyo's to be very progressive approaching the limit and beyond. It's obvious that everyone has their favorites probably down to personal experience's,also what you intend on putting the car through and your own driving style.

Got some toyos on at the mo they do the job ok not crap but not amazing either found them to screach alot more than my old tyres in the summer and felt like they were flexing alot, increassing tyre pressures helped, better in the wet.But at £74 a corner for 215/40/17 from MYTYRES.UK.CO I could not grumble to much, had bridgestone potenza S02's last time which I loved very grippy and a strong square shaped sidewall, Toyos have a more rounded sidewall in this size.
Toyos are a good alround tyre that will be good for most drivers at a reasonable price just comes down to your driving style and personal taste at the end of the day.I might use them again but prefer a stronger sidewall so will see what else is on the market when I come to replace them soon. Very interested in the vredestein tyres came out better than toyo's and eagle F1's etc etc on the MYTYRES.CO.UK test info. Anyone tried these on there scoob yet?
