Cool

....It may not be one!
I think the 4 pot 'rule' applies to Jap spec cars, I seem to recall that Australian cars had 2 pots(?)
The V3 was the facelift model in Japan, so has all the tell tale signs besides 4 pots, but a car can get them retrofitted anyway. Check the VIN No plate in the engine bay by the front strut mounting close to the washer bottle.

my 97 wrx only came with 2 pots
its not a sti but comes with most of the sti bits like injectors and turbo etc etc

to give it 280ps and only 2 pot brakes is fooken unbelivable

Cool

To give ANY Impreza 280 bhp and 4 POT brakes is just as mad...
Plan your exit in advance...

Cool

I think the brake 'thing' for Impreza's comes from the car is accellerating so fast that braking situations arrive so fast you need to react just as quickly. I hill climb my STI and the brakes are great, that's because I concentrate so hard for about a minute the climb takes. I drove the same car on a flat bendy circuit in Wales (Llandow)and the brakes were cooked after one lap.
My problem with the STI brakes are braking responses between the extremes, 70 to 30 time is scary!
