As I've said I need replacement Disks for a Prodrive Alcon 4-pot 330mm kit. Would I be better replacing the disks with original prodrive ones or going for something else Godspeed etc????
If I were going for Prodrive ones where's the best place to buy them from? Dealer price is over £300 per disk!!!!

Mike, I've tried a few dealers and £208 is no where near what they are charging, if you can get me a disk at that price I'll buy it from U!!!

Ricky,
I had the same problem earlier this year. Ended up getting the discs from Ian at Godspeed. The advantage now is that come change time again, all i change is the discs not the whole lot, costing about £100 the pair! Got a new set of DS2500 for £125 at the same time, check and you'll see the this is much cheaper than your dealer..
Mike Wood, how many customer need to move away from genuine Alcon stuff before Subaru realise that the people with the Alcon upgrade DO NOT want to pay these high prices for complete discs/bells. Virtually every other kit on the market is now doing this. You must be losing a lot of sales.
Steve.

We are always aware of pricing issues with our products and try to keep our prices competive but inevitably some products are not the cheapest on the market. All our products are bespoke to the application and not simply a universal part adapted to fit. We test all the parts and in the UK they are supplied with a warranty.
With this in mind we took the decision to keep our brake disc as a one piece item as we felt this was the best solution. Our extensive experience with 2 piece discs means that we life the bells and limit them at best to only having the discs changed once before they are scrapped as they may start to crack. To rebuild them you would also need to use new bolts and nuts so any saving soon starts to disappear. We are also unhappy with the prospect of relatively inexperienced people rebuilding one of the most safety critical parts of the car.
I seriously doubt that you can buy a pair of discs for £100 and yes we are acutely aware that the replacement cost is high. That's why we have been working with Alcon to reduce the prices without sacrificing performance.
Ricky
The disc HAVE been reduced in price. If your dealer cannot find the new price on his system then he needs to contact Subaru UK to sort it out.
Regards
Mike
