thought id post this as its quite a popular topic.
fitted 225/35/18 Toyos on 18x7.5 ET53 (prodrive wrc rims) the other week and had no problems, plenty of rim protection, no scraping - even with a car full, loads of grip, better handling, doesnt look stretched to fit like some 215/35/18s, only down side is ya pay about £20 extra for the extra 10mm
recomended to other classics thinking of 18's

I had to roll my rear arches with Yoko avs 225/35/18's on Oz Super Leg's as they rubbed when cornering or loaded up.

used to have yoko avs sports 225/35/18's but with a ET50 offset 8inch wide compomtove rim, these caught the rear arches under hard cornering, think the extra 3mm they stuck out was the difference as the same size tyre on ET50 is fine
