Kwik Fit pads and discs??
#1
I have a 97 R UK turbo, brakes are as standard. Im Getting a loud scraping noise from drivers front wheel so i took it into the local Kwik fit, Front pads and discs are badly worn resulting in the scraping noise. He looked up a price and quoted me £285 for front pad and disc change all in.
Is this a good price and what will the kwik fit goods be like?? Im not really that interested in 4pot conversions, just need the problem sorted ASAP.
I have 16' wheels, can i have larger discs put on to what i have already got on there??
Help is appreciated before i go and waste some money.
Cheers.

The discs are 277mm , which will only fit with 2 pots , the later cars with four pots have 294mm discs , but these are too big to use with your calipers , you would need the four pots to fit these
That price does seem quite expensive for just standard brakes , have a look at the group buy price for front discs and pads £215 all in delivered
Cheers Ian

Just my oppinion but I wouldn't use quick fit. They make thing up. Your brakes are catching probably cause they need a good clean. Mine was doing until yesterday and my discs and pads are brand new. The brake dust and muck stops the pads sliding as they should. Just take them apart, clean the muck off and copper grease them, should be fine.
