I've managed to buckle one of my alloys slightly, but enough for it not to hold the air in the tyre. Does anyone know if this can be repaired? Rough prices please, otherwise how much am I looking at for just the alloy wheel? Are there any places I can get these 2nd hand?

I'll try and find it.
In the mean time, it might be worth enquiring at a few local tyre shops. Quite a few of them act as agents for Companies like Pristine and Spit & Polish (Tunbridge Wells). This means you just drop them off at the tyre place and they get collected and returned by Pristine.

Cheers Slow Boy.
After 3 seperate attempts with 118-118 They managed to find me the number. I left my alloy with them this morning, so hopefully they will be able to repair it. For £32 + vat I can't grumble at that.
Just found also that the front will also need repairing, so I will be dropping that one off on Monday.
Thanks again.

Just had a phone call back from them now. They reckon both of the alloys are scrap. I find it really hard to believe as they don't look that badly damaged. Does anyone have any numbers for mobile alloy repair companies, so I can get a 2nd opinion?

Sometimes they will need to weld a bit on then flush it back down to the original outline, obviously it needs refinished afterwards. But that technique can usually sort wheels with the leaking problem.
I had it done on a 17" alloy on one of my other cars a few years ago that had the same problem and it's been fine ever since.

To tell you the truth, I don't think they were that badly damaged. No damage on the outside, but the inside wall has a dent. There was a big enough gap to release the air from one of the tyres when it happened, but they are both holding the pressure now. I'll try and get some photo's done to show you the damage.
Paul M, Where did you get yours done?

It was a place local, I took it into my usual tyre place cos I thought I had a slow puncture but they checked it and found the wheel was leaking slightly at a dent. They recommended me this guy to weld a small piece on and flush it down again, he done it for about a tenner I think and after I got the tyre refitted the problem was cured.

I have found a place in Hemel Hempstead that specialise in alloy wheel repairs. I'm now trying to get the alloys to them for a second opinion. The only trouble is their opening hours are 2am - 8am.

ive used pristine before, a good service. They managed to repair a buckle easily, 5 inches long and an inch deep, dont ask . This was on the outside not inside if that makes any difference

Maybe cause it is damaged on the inside that Pristine are unable to do anytthing about it. This company in Hemel are picking up the Alloys on Thursday, so fingers crossed they will be able to do something with them. They seemed quite hopeful, but until they see them, who knows.

just had my alloys returned and repaired for £40 for both. they both look ok, lets hope they still are when they come to balanced. At the moment this is a fantastic price and alot cheaper than 2 new alloys.
