Question

After selling my motorbike I can now afford a set of 18" wheels (and a PPP) for my STI8. Rather like the OZ's on the Subaru website, they call them WRC are they a special wheel just for Subaru or can you get these elswhere? Seem a bit pricey at Subaru UK.
Also will be selling the current 17" gold ones, they are like brand new (2000 miles) complete with the Bridgestones, what sort of price should I ask for?
Thanks for the help guys.

don't know about the 18s, but couldn't you keep the 17s for trackday use?

You should be able to sell your OE alloys for anywhere between £500 and £700 - it depends on how much people want them. I think they look brilliant on a classic

There are sometimes sets for sale on here- usually referred to as the OZ prodrive.

If I remember correctly, there are two different versions that look exactly the same. However, you need to make sure that you get the ones that will clear your Brembos. Mine clear my APs, but apparently won't clear the Brembo calipers.

Second hand in good condition expect to pay in the region of £800- a massive saving on what your dealer wants for them!

Thumbs up

Get the FF7 prodrive wheels as these are much lighter. Negotiate the wheels only and buy your own tyres.
Sold my STi7 wheels brand new with 20 miles on the tyres for £600

Wink

Steve.

I have the 18" oz/prodrive alloys in gold on my STi; I got them from a tyre/wheel specialist in Manchester; they were new but a cancelled order so I got them for a good price (£900 for 4 nr); I put p zero neros on them with a 35 profile; they look good!

John.

Thanks guys, I have been told that the tyre size to go for is 225 /40 for the 18" wheels. Is this what they would come with if I ordered a complete wheel tyre package from Subaru?

I also understand that the OZ wheels from Subaru are not the standard superleggera (if thats the right word).
Thanks STEVE.............................

Yes - you're right the they are not Supperlegerra's.

I've just got the exact same 18" wheels you're taliking about.

They are The OZ Prodrive WRC1's.

It took ages to find some, coz wasnt gonna pay exorbitant Subaru prices. They cost me £980 for the wheels only, but were gonna cost about £1250 with a cheapish tyre. But i went for the wheels only coz i was supposed to get some Goodyear F1's at an excellent price. But, they didnt arrive till 6 weeks after they were promised - by which time i'd bought some at "normal" prices!!!

(I still have the Goodyears if your interested - good price to you! )

I went for the 225/35/18 series, they look better and have a closer overall diameter than the 40 series on my Classic - IICR.

These wheels are without doubt the Badgers Nadgers - GET SOME !!!

I Eventually found them available from two Companies:
Wheelmainia in Birmingham and Amber Motorsport
http://www.wheelmania.co.uk/pages/home.htm
http://www.amber-performance.co.uk/

Wheelmania dont have them on their site - ring them.
Amber Performance advertise on Scoobynet - might get discount if you mention this !!

Cheers
Dave

PS- If the FF7's are lighter - they must be made of air !!!

Unhappy

Your tyre sizes for the STi should be 225\40\18. Against standard wheels 60mph you will be travelling 60.3. a difference of -0.5%

Using 35 profile you will be travelling 58.1mph a difference of +3.5%.

the recommendation is a max of 2.5% difference + or -

Edited to say - New age Impreza only.

The wheels are for sale, I will be ordering the PPP and the wheels today, should be here in about three weeks I think. But if your interested make me a sensible offer. The car has done just over 2000 miles. First 1400 or so of that running in, so they are like new.

I'm looking for 750 for the four, they are as new and I think they are worth that, sorry 500 just that bit too low. Looking back 700 to 800 seems to be what they go for.
I am near Leicester.
