Question

do these 2 calipers share the same mounting points to the hub and do they both use the same size(294mm) rotors?

i ask because at the moment i'm running single pot calipers on my mk2 legacy and know that the 4 pot's bolt straight onto my hubs with no probs, i also know that the 294mm rotors bolt on too, however the standard rotors i have on at the moment are totaly shagged and need replacing as a matter of urgency but i cant seem to find any 4pot calipers to use with the bigger rotors so i wanted to know if i could use the 2pot's on the 294mm rotors untill i found some 4's then i would not need to buy a set of new small rotors to keep me legal and safe.

any advice welcomed, ta in advance.

No you cannot use the 294mm discs with the 2 pots , the 2 pots are designed to fit with the 277mm discs , if you put the bigger discs on , the discs will hit the inside of the calipers stopping them going into place to bolt on.

Erm, Legacy GTB's have 2-pot 294mm brakes on the front, and single pot 277mm brakes on the rear.

And the 4-pot calipers for 294mm discs fit straight onto Legacy GTB hubs.

Rich.

I think they are. Took quite a bit of research on Scoobyworld's part to track down some brake pads...

294mm discs tend to point to 4-pot STI Impreza on most cross-references. And 2-pot Subaru brakes tend to point to the 277mm discs.

But the Legacy GTB has 294mm discs with 2-pots, and 277mm discs with single pots on the back.

They could be better though, as stopping a big heavy Legacy with 280bhp under the bonnet takes some effort! When I can afford it, I'll swap to 4-pots on the front.

Rich.
