Please help.... i need 4 new tyres as i am finding stopping quite difficult. The wheels are standard subaru 15" alloys with 205/55/15's on. Now in the door frame it says that i can use either 205 or 195 but only says 55 mm walls and various speed ratings. I want 205/50/15's will these be ok to use? and are they cheaper?!?!?!?! any advice greatful!!

Hi,

Firstly the 55 is not mm's but a percentage of the width..

why we have mm's/percentage/inches in a tyre size is beyond me.

You would be better off getting a set of secondhand 16inch or 17inch rims with decent tyres from the for sale forum.

if you want to stick with the fifteens then best to stay with same tyre size in my opinon.
