I currently have 17 wheels on my 95 WRX import but they look a bit on the small side so I am considering changing them for 18's.

I have heard a number of people say that 18's make the handling worse but wondered what people here reckon ?

Also, any suggestions and pics of either gold or anthracite alloys on a dark blue classic would be great as unsure what to go for.

Cheers El

Elliot,

I am very cynical about the whole "adverse to handling" thing. If you are Colin McCrae then , yes, maybe you would see a difference. But as far as us mere mortals are concerned, I can't see a difference.
I am also upgrading from 17" to 18", mainly because I want different wheels, but thought I'd go bigger anyway.
I have no doubt someone will post to the contrary on here, but I don't buy it.

Craig.

Guys, I too am considering upgrading from 17" to 18", I have OZ super t at the moment, 17 x 205/40. When you go up to 18's, what are the changes? I mean does it go 18 x 225/35??? What do I need to be looking at and what offset should 18's be???

Mine's a v4 type R if it makes any difference!

HOUSEQUAKE,

The offset will be the same, 48-53. As for tyre sizes, you will find a range of tyres will fit. Ask your supplier what they recommend size wise, price is also a factor.

My 18 Prodrive wheels handle better than the 17 Oz wheels i had on there.

Tyre size on the classic should be 215/35/18
