Fitting pads to MY99 4-pots - any special tools needed?

Once you've got the wheel off it's simple, at the rear of the caliper is a wire spring that goes through the two pad pins, remove the spring, and now the two pins can be pulled out, the anti rattle spring will come off aswell, once removed the pads can be pushed apart, so that the pistons get pushed into the caliper, put the new pads in one at a time, when both in, replace the pins and springs.
Job done!!

ps, check the fluid level in the reservoir before you start, if too high, you may need to remove some fluid!
