Got my STi8 5 weeks ago with the 18" prodrive titanium alloys, and thing are not looking good... The wheels have black undercote and it's starting to show through the silver!!!!!! Just been to the dealers and they tried some wheel cleaner as they at first it looked like brake dust engrained in the paint, then they tried some cleaning compound i.e. t-cut "guess what" it brought the silver off... nice one! They guy was genuinly shocked, errr so was I to be honest, the things were £1800 with tires. Looks to me like thiers not enough laquer on the inside of the spokes, the front face is lovely, really shiny with deep laquered finnish but the sides of the spokes have a very week finnish. thiers no way the paint should come off after a rub with t-cut! In all three of the wheels are showing the same thing and look crap in the sunlight... Anyhow will keep you updated as to the outcome.
if I can work out how to post photos i will!

Yep - definitely get them to change it.
We used t cut on my gold pff7s and they were fine.
Go back to them - you must have just been unlucky and got a bad set. Dont think people have had problems with them before

The finish on the Crystal Titanium wheels is a very thin top coat over a dark base to give the 'black chrome' effect. It's done to give the high tech finish similar to the wheels on an M3 (did I really type that!) and can only be applied to the front face as painting the inner faces would overspray onto the front, spoiling the finish.
As with any wheel, they should ONLY be cleaned using soapy water and any abrasive or chemical cleaners are to be avoided at all costs. The more often they are cleaned the easier they will be to keep clean.
Regards
Mike

With the amount of dust most pads generate, including the ones Prodrive fit, you'd be cleaning them everytime you got out of the car! Not good.
If you don't get any joy from the dealer then sned them off to someone like Pristine or Spit and Pollish. They'll come back looking spanking.
