Wheels adn tires
#1
Hello,
I have a 2000 impreza 2.0 Turbo and want to ask you two questions:
About the wheels, are the dafault 16' wheels the optimal or should I go for the 17' ones (Would it penalize when in 17')
About the tires, what do you think interms of perfomance:
Bridgsestone Potenza pole position, Michelin (which ones?) or Phirelli p-zero
thank you for your help

Got 17" on MY00, thay can make the steering a little more 'twichy', but once you've got used to it there fine.
As for tyres i am looking at my first MOT soon and think that all four tyres may need replacing, i have benn recommended Toyo Proxies, not sure what these are like , i have Potenza's at the mo!!!!

In fact I think the default wheels and tyres would be the best choice, I have now the 205/45/16 potenza, and I am very happy with them, i was asking for a possible loose of perfomance with heavier 17'' wheels and wider tyres like the 215/40R17, and the diffeent spinning ratio of the wheel, etc...
What have you experienced?

I have found that the car can ,if you're not careful, follow all the ruts/ road repairs in the road EG lines in the road where a repair has been carried out, i have the subaru 17" golds with 225x65 x 17" with potenzas on

Potenzas can 'tramline' very badly when worn Toyos don't seem to do it. Can't say about any others as I've only had Potenzas and Toyos on.
Do a search on tyres, it's a common topic for discussion on here.
