I have spotted a set of 2 pot rear brakes for sale and am very interested in these, however, I am not sure if they will fit straight onto a UK my99 car. I think they are off a Jap car. Anyone got any ideas?? If more info required, I will try and find out for you.

They won't fit straight on, you would need all the hubs and shafts from the jap car too, unless you spend all day on track, don't bother! Just upgrade your pads!

The job isn't straight forward. Not as bad as hubs and shafts tho. Look at your rear assembley with the wheel off... basically there is a backing plate that bolts onto the hub that the calipers then bolt to. You need these backing plates, discs, pads and calipers. Not so sure if the actually hand brake can be reused or if this is a different size due to the size difference in the discs.

They won't fit without specialist mounting brackets/engineering work. Ron is completely correct. Just change your pads to something with a slightly higher friction level.

Hi all
I have decided change my rear breaks on MY98 to 2pots and ordered secondhand one from MMMOTORSPORT (a terrible company). It was 3 months before and after 2 received same single pots as at preset is on my car... I have no answer till today from that man. Do you anybody know this company from Aberden?
So I have it odreded becouse Mike told me its direct swap and it will fit directly. On www.tarox.com are only two types rear rotors:
266x10x67 (pre MY99, non vented) and
266x18x67 for MY99+ inclusive WRX.
So I am realy confused now. Do I really need change anything else? Is it possible take it from WRX?

The brakes discs on the 2 pots are 290mm.... you'll need more than just the calipers. These guys sell the full kit:

MRT rear 2 pot kit

Last time i looked i think it was about £1000... all new kit tho.

That's not the 2 pot rear that you want tho. That basically swaps the solid rear discs of the early uk/european cars to a vented (same size) disc and suitable sliding (i.e not the 22b, type-r 2 pot) caliper.

I have made few comparsions at weekend. Becouse I bought vented rear 266 disc from tarox and ferodo DS2500 pads for 22B/WRX 2 pot brakes I could made comparsion if pads are good for 266 or bigger disc.
So result is: pads are 100% for 266 discs consequently to this 2pots must be good too. Now remains question about fiting to rest rear MY98 brake system only. I thing only part what I need is flange (mount) from WRX.

So would STi 2 pot rear calipers / vented bigger disc rotors fit a WRX MY94 ?
Without more than dust plates and pads etc

Thanks
