the Ferodo ds2500 is a high performance 'road' pad and is supplied by ourselves (and other agents) as exactl that..........
you will have no problems using this type of pad on the road and should in general notice an improvement in all aspects of braking......
if you need any pers. advice then feel free to contact me,
alyn - asperformance.com

**just a quick note to say don't know if we have supplied these, but would recomend these in most "press-on" road driving type circumstances........

I have a 1998 Forester T/tb. The original pads were useless and were replaced with Ferodo 2500 FCP1237H, as advised by a Subaru specialist. The car is an every day transport and family car and does no track work.
My local garage(who now do the servicing and are OK) contacted Ferodo re' replacement pads and were told that the 2500's are competition pads for track use and not suitable for normal road use.
Can any expert out there tell me if this is the case and what pads are recommended for the Forester. What should my garage order for me so that the car stops?

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,
The choice I was given was Mintex M1144 or EBC red pads.
I did have EBC greens on last year but even with my lack of using the middle pedal they only lasted 8 months and that was three months too long.
The reds seem to be OK so far and are meant to have less squeal and dust than the Mintex.

Done anything else to yours since I saw you?

Thanks Stockcar, just the info' I wanted. I'll stick with the Ferodo pads.

Hi Nick , now have a de-cat downpipe ( a so and so to get gas tight seals) and new 17" wheels and P6000's.
Next are some decent drop links and new turbo hoses. I had to give up on silicone coolant hoses. Cheers

Well now you have the room to put 4 pot brakes on or even 325mm Gospeeds
