Speedline Chrono Nuts
#2
Hi All
The wheel nuts on my Speedlines are shot. They have lost any chrome they ever had on them and now look..... well "Sh*te" to be honest.
I popped into my local dealer today and he reckoned they might be wheel specific as the heads on mine are flat and the standard scooby ones are rounded... Kinda sounded like a cop out to me....
Anyways.. the car is a 98 terzo and I wondered if anyone had encountered the same issues. Also Scoob wanted to charge me £4 per nut... A bit harsh i thought..
Any Ideas or should I speak to speedline ??
Cheers

your dealer is correct the Speedline uses a specific nut as they 'load' the shoulder differently due to the way the wheels are machined........

Alyn,
is that true for all speedlines as I got a set of grotty looking nuts supplied with my turini wheels but kept the OE chromed ones on as they looked better and didn't seem to have an obvious taper difference...
should I be swapping them over?
Apple
PS MY02 if anything's changed over the years

All the OZ manufactured wheels we supply are designed to fit with the OE wheel nuts. If your's are fitted with other nuts, they didn't come from a Subaru dealer with the wheels.

I need a full set of nuts for my scooby. Preferably gold to go with my Prodrive alloys - do these exist ??
If so who is the cheapest then for 20 nuts?
Let the bloke who had my factory alloys have them as my scooby is off the road and he had flat nuts on his non-factory wheels.

Thanks to various people for the info - I went out and checked my nuts and found the speedline ones ARE different to the OE ones so have swapped 'em over sharpish
The OE one is on the left and the speedline one on the right - the taper lengths are different and the speedline one has a parallel section for extra location (the holes in the wheel are bigger on speedline alloys AFAIK)
