I seem to remember someone talking about a method for bleeding the ABS system, but can't seem to find it on the search engine. Can anyone provide me with this info (MY97)??
I intend to do this in a bid to improve my currently crappy brakes, which are bled regularly and have so far been uprated using Goodridge hoses & MRT support bracket.
Cheers,
Leeroy

Leeroy,
basicly there are a few methods, depending on what ABS system you have.
the late ones (have the doc @ home, so not sure) should be bled in an anticlockwise rotation from the osf wheel ( = osf, nsf, nsr, osr )
the other one is in diagonal pairs, starting with osf - nsr, nsf - osr.
I've bled mine loads but using the normal, furthest from. so I'm gona try one of these, when I work out what ABS unit I have compaired to the subaru doc's !
I can email them to you next week - but they are about 1.5Mb each.

I just bleed furtherst first, and in diagonal pairs. Then take out for a spin and give the ABS plenty of work to do, this always seems to flush some air out, then bleed again.

Thanks for the replies!
Pavlo, I have never actually tried getting the ABS twitching and then re-bleeding so I will give it a go. I also always bleed in the same sequence (rear p/side, rear d/side, front p/side and front d/side) and was under the impression that you would always bleed from the farthest point in the system to the nearest.
