Unhappy

When I reverse my STI7 for the first time I get a harsh knock from the front as I apply the brakes. I also get it sometimes when going forward. This hapened quite a few times last night why in a queue at McDonaltd drive through.

This reminds he of my Peugeot 205 GTI's where the pads used to jump slightly in the calipers.

Has anyone else got the same problem or anyone know what I need to do?

Cheers

Nick

could simply be as you say........however, we have also had this fault when a caliper bolt had been incorrectly tightened (not by us i might add!!), a check of the security of your caliper, etc. would be the way i'd suggest!!

Nick,

I've got the same sound, it's not a problem, it's just as you said.

The pads seem to jump a little.

Alyn, While I'm here, those RS15 pads seem to squeal like little piggies at times. I've put plenty of copper slip on them, and used the silver shim thing, any ideas? or do I just take the bung out of the Blitz.....

it is an inherent problem of the "brembo" caliper design unfortunately (just ask any 'evo' owner).......
however, we do find that a product called "brake silencer" normally helps, it replaces the copper slip and is a silicone type product........
always in stock

Alyn,

Will it stop the squeal then or just lessen it?

in most cases it WILL stop any noise..........however, there's no guarantees as we have had a few exceptional cases with most unusual problems that it did not cure........
