Unhappy

Hill climbed my STi V3 last weekend, full bore flat out stuff. While braking really hard I kept locking a wheel or two (hard to tell which ones)The ABS didn' chatter, no lights on the dashboard. Brakes are standard Scooby (gulp)with Green stuff pads all round.
Any ideas?

Cool

Can't you sleep in the morning either?

The car was straight from Japan and was standard when I had it 2 years ago. Good idea mind, will try to find it and see. Why would anyone want to do this anyway?
Mant thanks,Graham.

Question

I take it the car is a standard v3 sti and not a v-ltd/ra etc?
Do you also get the ABS light lighting up when you turn the key in the ignition?

No! Just been down to the car and turned the ignition key. Get all the usual lights but no ABS symbol.
The car is a standard Sti V3, ordinary gearbox and all that.

Sounds like you either have a car with no ABS or the ABS aint working (helpful aint I )). Someone on here should be able to tell you where to locate and check for the ABS kit on your car to be sure.

ABS kit should be in the front of the driver's side front wing - opposite the battery.
It's a brass-coloured block, with 4 or 5 brake pipes heading into it. If you have a big space behind the off-side headlight, you ain't got ABS!

BTW, if you've had the car for a while, I'd be supprised if you hadn't had the ABS go off on the odd drain cover or bumpy section of road??
