ever need to replace just 1 tyre?

have you ever knackered a tyre and needed just one? can one new tyre be fitted because of the awd system? have heard a rumour that if the differce is more than few mm all 4 need changing? is this true? any comments??

dont EVER EVER EVER replace 1 tyre.. changing the pair should be fine though (front pair or back pair)

i have and had no problems...

There wont be a problem if your other tyre only has a tiny amount of wear..

that rumour about changing all tyres only applies to cav\calibra turbos if the tread wear was out more than 2.5mm between all 4 tyres it would put the car into 2wd and if the tyre were not changed would damaged the transfer box, but imprezas have totally different setup

Thanks guys, will replace both to be safe! can get good year eagle f1's 225/40/zr18 for 105 each fitted is that a good price??

Might save you £200...

Have got one Bridgestone OEM 215 / 45 x 17 Tyre from MY02.

7-8mm across tread, perfect wear, vgc.

You can have it for a drink = £ 20

( I have the new F1's now and they are good, but realistically are only better in wet, softer sidewall construction and are quieter)

thanks for the offer but the inch difference in size could be a problem? good job they fixed the sidewall thing the old ones always looked soft!

oh and mike dosent own a subaru any more he has traited to the the dark side

scooby will be off the road for a while as goodyear are out of stock? bummer! they offered me pirellis instead!
