What exactly makes the pads squeal?
pad to disk?
pad to piston?
pad to pin to caliper?
I've got a tub of copper grease and I'm not afraid to use it! Again!
Can the experts please enlighten me, failing that do you know any good earplugs?

No shims on my kit, however the grease is there!
Edited to add I put the sticky rubbery things on the back of the pads this weekend (I didn't bother the first time) and no difference. I'm on the hunt for some shims although its more of a material thing I think - it doesn't happen when I use them properly - its when I brake like a girl (or being kind to passengers) that it happens, mostly at <5mph. trust me to add an edit thats longer than the original post
Ian YHMB, thanks.
