Alright, gents, here is my quandry. I am thinking of upgrading to the Godspeed 335mm kit for the OEM 4-pot calipers. However, my US spec brakes are quite small at ~256mm non-vented rotors with single piston calipers. I'm assuming that by moving the front calipers away from the hub an extra 40mm I will increase brake torque a fair amount. I am worried that it will upset the brake bias if I don't upgrade the rears as well.
Am I crazy? Is this a non-issue? If it will be an issue, suggested upgrades for the rears?
Many thanks.

Ian, I still have it and am enjoying it. Thanks, again. I'm just toying with the idea of going bigger. The rears are stock at the moment, save for stainless lines and Motul synth fluid. Rear rotors can't be much bigger than 266mm, maybe smaller, I'm not certain.
Thanks.

If you have a look in the archives for rear brakes you will find some threads on this.
I upgraded my front brakes earlier this year to a 335mm/6pot kit. Under very heavy braking you do notice more "squirm" at the rear of the car.
At first I thought I might be able to re-address the balance by fitting a more grippy pad at the rear. However after speaking to Pete Croney at Scoobysport I am not sure.
He told me that the problem is not with the brake bias as such, but the weight transfer. As we know these cars transfer lots of weight to the front under extreme braking. This can unload the rear brakes as the tyres have less downforce and hence grip. The ABS can thus kick in at the rear BEFORE it kicks in at the front as the ECU sees wheelspin at the rear. This of course is not really desired. Pete continued to say that a grippier pad at the rear can just make things worse.
Ultimately a suspension damper upgrade is needed I think.
I am tempted to get a cheap set of uprated pads for the rear (greenstuff), just to try them out in comparisson to the standard subaru rear pads on my next trackday.

Cheers, fellas. Thanks for the replies. Well, I've already got uprated Eibachs and adjustable damping struts on the car, so maybe the plan should be to turn the front struts 1 click stiffer. I appreciate the insight.
