Ok, my Pzero's are coming to the end of there life and I need to know.

What brand is gonna be best for 215/40-17's on a P1, Goodyear or Toyo? Forget the price, just go on grip levels...

(I've trawled through the search and it always comes down to these two brands, I just can't decide)

I had the F1's on my WRX and they were fantastic. Others swear by Toyos. AFAIK there aint much in it, but I went for the F1 as they are retailed by the main high street fitters, and in an emergency I could get a replacement (albeit at an inflated price)

Personally I've used Toyos on the original 16" wheels and then on the new 18" wheels. How they compare to the Goodyears as I havent had both I cant say, but I've been please with both the grip and the life I've had from them.

If you near(ish) to Northampton give Mark a ring at Tyres Northampton on 01604 588599. Not always the cheapest but the service is beyond compare.

My 2p worth

That's a good point, I guess I should go for what is available locally. I never thought of that

Arrr now Northampton isn't too far away, that's a good option as well. I'll give them a call at the weekend

You also have to bear in mind that any other tyres you use will be oversized as Pirelli and I think Falken are the only ones who make the correct size.

On my P1 I made the change to Toyos (215s), having sucessfully run them on my '98. They offer excellent wet and dry grip, but like most decent tyres, have a limited life.

I've had both Goodyear F1's and Toyo's - currently got Toyos on but replacement is due and Goodyears are going back on - 'nuff said.
