Question

Sorry if this has been done before, but need advice!

Had the front brakes done on my car in the form of EBC redstuff pads, EBC discs, braided hoses and DOT5.1 fluid.

I've only done about a 100 miles on them but the pedal is very soft when , with the braided hoses etc, I was expecting a firm pedal.

Is this usual with either this combination or when you have everything new (i.e discs/pads/hoses) as is the case here. If anybody who has used this combination of discs/pads could let me know how they got on I would appreciate it.

Just want an indication of whether this will improve with time and if this is all part of the bedding in process (and if so how long), or whether it's worthwhile getting the system bled again.

Cheers
Phil

Regardless of how new it is i would expect the peddle to be firm. Sounds to me like they need re-bleeding.

Phil, whatever possessed you to go for those discs and pads

But the problem is surely air in the pipes and they need bleeding. Who did the fitting? They really shouldn't be letting cars out in that state. Apologies if you did it

Richard.

Thumbs up

Hoppy - no, wasn't me that did it!

Take it you don't approve of EBC stuff?

I'll take the car back and have the re-bled done as I was expecting a firm pedal. See what happens after that.

Phil
