Unhappy

Scoob sat on drive for over a week at christmas

yesterday tried to reverse...........cluck
I declutched and tried again all seemed ok, think this was that the handbrake had sort of stuck then released ok

drove off, brakes really poor, I mean really poor

its been raining like hell so I guess they may have gone a bit more rusty than usual

what do I need to do to get them working properly again?

btw I was shocked at how pitted a set of 13K discs can be!!!!!!!!

Just brake a bit harder and for longer when you drive. It should clear your discs up.

Have you seen how quickly surface rust can build up whilst washing your car when the discs are still warm

Your brakes were probably hot when you put the hand brake on, so the brakes "bound".
I just bought my Impreza, and it had been standing for sale for a while so the discs were rusty. It took a few days to wear the rust off the discs and for them to start working properly.
