Where are the cheapest places to buy 18"inch tyres from, and which tyres work well on this size wheel.

Thanks

Luke

try http://www.mytyres.net/start.html.

They will deliver the tyres to you or another garage, they will even recomend a fitter near you. They also offer big discounts and free delivery.

I've just odered 4 Eagle F1 GSD-3's, for my 215/45 R17's i'm hoping there are going to be good, they also do them for 225/35 R18 but they are alot more expensive

Cheers

Cheap tyres = potential interface with tree. How much is your life worth.

If you mean the cheapest price for decent tyres, that's another thing.

The smart money recommends Bridgestone S03/Toyo T-1s/Goodyear F1 for Imprezas and not much else

I have used Falkens both on track and on the road and they are sub standard compared to the three above.

Dave the falkens on my car work very well, its just that you are a flash git

I would have agree with Dave, do not put a real budget tyre on as you are just asking for trouble.

Goodyear F1's [225/40/18] are cheaper!

Dave,

Any tyre = potential interface with tree if you push the car and tyre beyond its limits not just cheap tyres. Why do people think this about cheaper tyres.

I put a set of cheap nankang standard size 16's on my scoob 10000 miles ago while i had to wait 6 weeks for some rims, these had the same tread pattern as the original tyres and the car felt no different at all so i cancelled the rims, car feels fine and i do push it hard.Yeah they maybe pants on a track,i dont know and if i did put some toyo's on i might think the nankangs are crap.

Remember some people do not have a feel for the road and it probably makes no difference what tyres they have on if there gonna have an off.

Paul

I don't disagree, but the limits of a cheap tyre will almost certainly be lower than those of a premium one.

And if so, unless you are a masochist, the answer has to be why put a tyre that is going to let go quicker on an Impreza

Agree with Dave - certain things are worth spending money on. Your contact with the road being one of them. If you look at any of the recent tyre tests done by the car magazines, there can be quite big differences in how tyres perform.

Ultimately, if you exceed the grip of your tyres, your're in trouble whatever you use, however as Dave says, why would you want to fit ones that would potentially let go sooner in the name of saving £15 (or something similar) a tyre?

What it is worth doing is shopping around and avoid paying main dealer prices for them in the first place.

Chris

Try Central Tyre and haggle and you'll get a good price. Got 4 P-Zero Nero's 215/35/18 for £520 (£130 each), got them fitted in June and wear really is minimal
