Seeing as you've obviously got a mate who would have them if they fit, why not try them and let everyone else know the answer!

they will fit as i have seen a set on a car but dont think they will fit with the 225/45 rubber

They will rub the arches with 225s (unless you have them rolled), you should get away with it if you fit 215s though.
