Hi all

Car was serviced this morning. Pads have less than 1000 miles left in 'em. I don't really want Subaru pads as I feel I could do better for the money.

Recommendations for any good road pads that insurers won't poop themselves about (ie I don't want "non-road use" pads)

Just fitted Ferrodo DS2500. Std Subaru pads have been on back order for weeks would you believe! - now coming into stock

Feel the same as OEM and should be more resistant to fade without warping the disks - allegedly - too early to tell

I've read on here somewhere that the nissan 200 sx,later models have the same pads as the 4 pot scoob and they are a lot cheaper,maybe worth looking in to.

If you want "standard" pads, then Partco sold me some Mintex pads that I have been very pleased with for £30ish. They were for Subaru 4 pots and Nissan 300ZX I think. They are a bit dusty, but they seem to stop well.

we supply a range of O.E spec pads or PAGID "fast road" pads depending on use - however none of these applications compete head on if you want the ultimate stopping power of competition type materials

Hi Alyn, drop me a mail with options if you don't mind. I just want cheap and cheerful as I'm not hard on my brakes. I've just gone through my first set in 3 years, 30k miles, so that seems to suggest I'm not in great need of huge upgrades

Mintex sounds like a viable option too, thanks for that
