Can anyone tell me if standard front turbo brakes/calipers and fittings will go straight onto a 2.0sport as i`m desperate to fill the space behind the 18" superleggs....it`s more for looks than performance.
Are the standards 2 pot?
Anyone doing an upgrade then i`ll gladly take the old 1`s off you for a price.... ;-)

Yep
The Turbo brakes will fit straight on.
your standard rain guards will be a little small but will do the job.
Look out in the for sale forum, they do come up from time to time,
And they will do much more than improve the looks, if you get decent pads they actually work too !!.

sorry for hijacking this thread but i've got a MY96 sport does this have 1 pots as standard?or 2 pots, also as i've just fitted group N discs with braided hoses could I just fit the 2 pot calipers straight on? any help gratfully recieved (dont even know what size my discs are how dumb am I????(dont answer that)

Not 100% sure on this, as I only really have experience of the turbo models.

I believe the older sports had 1 pot sliding calipers. Not sure about the disc size.

Early turbos (until 99, ) have 2 pots. Later models and STIs have 4 pots.

I think that the 2 pots fit straight on to a sport. I know the 4 pots fitted straight on to my turbo.

It so happens that I have some 2 pot discs, calipers & pads for sale. Pads & calipers are good, discs are OK, but aren't the best. I just want them all out of the house (preferably in one go)

As far as i`m informed the Sport has 1 pot calipers as standard. I have also been told that there is a code which tells you which upgrades you can fit to a certain model of car....it`s to do with offsets and clearances i beleive.
In my case i just want the standard system from a turbo which i belieive are 2 pots??
How much are you asking dnb and how bad are the discs?

Was looking for somewhere in the region of £80

The discs have (I estimate) about 10k to 15k miles left on them. One has some score marks which will easily skim out without taking too much life off the discs. The pads are quite good - 10mm or so on them. Calipers are good too, and would colour code nicely

2 pots were standard to 1999 on UK cars.
