I am looking to buy some pagid blue pads on Saturday. I have always used mintex 1155's but Townend Garage have offered me these pagids at a great price. Are they better than 1155's or about the same? Plus, has anyone heard of them 'sparking' under extreme conditions? A friend said he has heard of this on an Evo.

I've never seen them sparking, but they are so good, you will need a good quality disc to use them. Standard discs are not up to these pads.

Are they good? I reckon they are the best all round pad available. Excellent friction, hot or cold, low dust and low disc wear.

I'm currently using Pagid RS15. They are a different story again.

RS42 (blue) have a co-effiecient of friction of 0.40 at 200 degC rising to 0.43 at 550 degC holding over 0.40 at 700 degC. To the layman, this is good friction!!. The RS15 have a co-efficient of friction of 0.58 at 200, rising to 0.62 at 550 and still holding 0.58 at 700 deg

Note, RS15 can only be used with race grade discs.

we use all forms of PAGID pads in our own / customers competition vehicles and road cars and have NEVER had a problem with brake discs unless you're talking about our "three lettered friend"!!

a QUALITY disc is all that is req'd!

one of the biggest advantages of PAGID over other makes is it is VERY disc friendly (oh and good value if you mention SCOOBYNET when ordering from ourselves!!!!!!)

Hi pete yip rs15s cant find a price anywere ,useing tarox sport japan discs with rs42s which i find excellant can only slightly fade them ,heard rs15s are better so a price on rs15s would be handy

Got my Pagids from Alyn, running on standard disks with OE type rears. They are a big, big improvement. Work straight off in the morning and get better and better. The biggest improvement is the level of feel the pedal gives you, you know exactly how much grip you've got until the wheels about to lock up. Don't know how but it's true.

P.S. Haven't had any sparks yet but sounds like fun.

SeeppyScooby, are you using the pagid pads with 2pot or 4pot calipers? I spoke to Alyn about these for my 2 pots and he said they would make a big difference, I was all set to order then I started thinking about upgrading to 4 pots again. I don't know what to do for the best, go for the pagids with my 2pots or wait 'til I've got the cash to get some 4 pots.

Got the new pads this morning and fitted them while still at Townend. Drove "normally" for about 100 miles and they were fine. Good from cold, no dust, no problems. Coming back through the lakes I decided to try them out over Whinlatter pass. My god! When you press them hard they are brilliant. Now I didn't give them 100% but they seem so much better than 1155's. Would reccommend them to anyone.

Looks like I might have to put mine in to see if they give less dust than the DS2500's.

could shock you with the OFFICIAL means of bedding these pads in for competition use, nearly always use this for road cars too
(NEVER TAKES 100 MILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Dave, they do seem to produce a lot less dust than my usual pads! Had clean wheels on arriving at Otterburn this morning. Beat ny record for getting there as well! I am so amazed by how good they are.

Alyn, you won't shock me cos I know! What does shock me is the way you were putting those flyers on cars today! Looked like you were trying door handles from where I was!

pagid blue put more dust on wheels then ds2500 and the pagid blues are harder on discs

but for track use the pagid are better for road use i would go for ds2500

Seepy, I'll not say the exact price of the pads, you'll have to phone Townend for a quote. Lets just say I saved well over £70 by not buying from certain well established subaru performance companies! Well worth shopping around!

I can vouch for the Pagids. I've got the 8 groove Pagid discs and RS 421 pads on an MY00 Turbo. Very minimal dusting compared to others and fantastic braking abilities (just proved on a trackday to Spa). No more brake fade for me with this setup.

And I also paid *far* less for mine than I've seen advertised at 'other performance outlets'.
