Question

I have been told to get 4 pots from an STI not from a standard UK scoob. I have bought some second hand 4pots from an STI. What is the differnce between the two, if any. They look the same to me?

Cheers
Steve

as far as i am aware there is only 1 type of "subaru" 4 pot - have sti4 ra rally car with identical calipers on as the uk cars i commonly get into the workshop - only 1 style of brake pad as well.

are you getting confused with prodrive spec "alcon" 4 pots or new impreza "brembo's"??
hope this helps

No difference at all, can't say for sure about the pads though, that is providing you're talking about the classic shape, the 'new' STI has Brembo's though, so they are very different.

Front's are all the same for the classics - I think the rears are bigger on the Type r though.

Thanks for your help
Looks like they are the same!
what are the best pads to get for them?
And now that I have 4pot calippers and 17' wheels could I upgrade the disc size in future? what is the maximun disc size and should they be drilled/groved? Is this a great improvement or not?(primarily road use)
Thanks
steve

Speaking from first hand experience, if you already have 4 pots and 17" wheels, the Godspeed 335mm conversion kit is awesome VFM.

I have had mine on about 4 weeks and they get better every time I go out, the only problem is it makes you drive like you've got really good brakes!

Steve,
You've seen mine!!
Stick with grooved only! Drilled disks can crack between the holes

If your at the Eastbourne meet give us a shout and I'll show you what can do!!

not go far wrong with std size "QUALITY" discs and a set of uprated pads (pers. preference is PAGID but whatever)
alyn - as performance
