Wink

Drive more slowly around corners?

Most likely more negative camber.

Hi m8
Exactly the same prob myself. Been told all the stories about power steering/cornering etc but main opinion seems to be set up. Wheels are toe out (factory setting). I've got 17" prodrives on and been told to get the settings changed to prodrive settings and this will cure it. Can't be bothered at moment as wheels are nearly knackered so will wait till I get new fronts. Sure someone will give you a more technical explanation plus who to go to.

MMmm.. Shouldn't have the car for much longer... if it was just something that my local garage could fix, then i'd have it do

How much would it cost to have it set up? - if it's biggish bucks .. i think i'll leave it.

I do give the edges a hammering when cornering

Hi m8,

Not good news about the tyres . I've just had my geometry set up by Prosport (aka subaru manchester) in stockport (to Prodrive spec). Well worth the £65, the car is now a lot more 'pointly'/ less of a lazy turn in. However this setup could lead to the inside edges wearing away due to the camber..... might balance the wear up .

If you need the number for them give me a shout,

Tony.

Thanks Tony.. I may well have it done if it's only £65.. to be honest, I'm not worried about the handling.. Just the tyres. I'll worry about the handling when the Sport's Gone and the Turbo is here

Had my "eye" a few recently, looking at a MY98 or MY99 UK 4 Door.

Having recieved a quote from my insurance company .. an increase from £1024 (MY 98 Sport) to £1284 (MY98 UK Turbo) .. it'd be silly not too

Sounds good to me.... who's that quote with btw? If you could i'd go for the MY99, saves you have to upgrade to 4 pots, you can have delta dash etc and if you can rember what my car looks like you' have guessed that i like the MY99 look too (pity im having to keep my Prodrive wing off the car for fear the ***** that tried to rip it off come back.... got to wait till January when we got our own house ).

Let me know how the hunting goes

Tony.

Prodrive settings require -1.5 camber on the front. This will wear the insides of your tyres considerably - take a look !
I changed the settings from Prodrive because of the excessive wear on the insides.

By all means have the prodrive settings - car handles great - but too much tyre wear for my liking.

Strange that its wearing on the rear also. It's only usually the fronts so that should'nt be happening afaik. Might be worth getting it checked out just in case.
