Question

Right, I've just been told that I need new front brake disks and pads, and since they are currently standard, I guess its time to get them upgraded. Thing is I'm not too sure where to start.. these are my requirements...

1) only used on roads - no track use.
2) want good, confidence inspiring stopping power.
3) sensible price - i'd love big 6 pots but out of the price range i'm afraid.

All to fit MY97 with 16" wheels..

Any ideas and recomendations are greatly appreciated.. thanks for listening and your advice..

Cheers, Shaggy.

I have the ScoobySport Pagid Group N+ disc and pad arrangement.
Cost's around the 400 quid mark I think.

Plus I changed my brake fluid and changed the hoses to Goodridge Steel Braid as per Pete's reccomendation at ScoobySport.

Stops on a sixpence!

Shaggy what's your budget?

Group N disks and pads to fit the 2 pots can be had for about £300
or you could go for the OEM (Subaru) 4 pots for about the same price. This would give you wider options for future upgrades
or you could get on the Godspeed group buy and get some 308mm disks with Godspeed calipers for £525!!

As I said depends what you want tto spend.
You can probably get disks and pads cheaper than the group N kit but I haven't researched it that far.
Have a read throght the treads and see what people have said about the brakes they have tried. EG. EBC are Sh!te and warp disks.

Iain.
