If they're directional tyres (most are I think, you can check by looking at the tyre walls to see if there any arrows on), if they are you can't swap left to right...but I'd recommend a front to rear swap if you want to put off the payment for new ones.

Just watch out in the wet if they're really worn out cos the fronts will grip more and the back less !

I've done the front to back swap though and I havcen't had any probs yet. Just puts it off for a while which is nice.

Cheers

Thumbs up

I have also always done this on 4wd cars, never had a problem.
Found that proper goem settings makes a huge difference on tyre wear as well.

Subaru manual says swap them every 10,000km (6,000 miles ish). Who are we to argue with Subaru I've done nearly 5k and will be swapping mine shortly. I believe that if you run one axle much more worn than the other, it will give the centre diff much more work to do - more stress and wear etc.

IIRC Cavalier/Calibra Turbos used to break if you had a big difference in tyre wear front/back. Cue anti-vauxhall gags . . .
