There is no 18" replacement that gives exactly the same rolling diameter/speedo reading.

OEM 215/45x17 rolling diameter is 626mm.

225/40x18 is the closest at 637mm.

It was good enough, however, for Subaru UK/Prodrive to put these on the UK300.

the 215/35/18 Tyres will mean that the speedo will under read.

e.g 60MPH will actually be 58.31MPH

They are way out. 215/35x18 rolling diameter is 608mm. It's around 3% out compared to the 215/45x17 and 5% compared to the 225/40x18.

It will lower your gearing - acceleration will be better, but you will be pulling higher revs at any given speed.

They will also look noticeably smaller in the arches - 29mm less diameter than the 225/40x18.

215/35x18 is the tyre for the old shape Impreza, not the bugeye.

I'd send them back........

Paul,

I've got a set of 225/40 18 Pilot Sports on my now totalled WRX 2001. And I need a set of smaller tyres to put on my about to be bought classic WRX.

My tyres have done around 1000 miles and are perfectly good. Want to do a swap?

Mail me offline if interested...

SB

Edited to put the correct tyre size.

Pillock
