Hi all,

My tyres need replacing, and I'm looking to upgrade to 17 or 18 inch wheels at the same time (MY2000 Turbo). I thought I'd found the answer in the Detroit F1s from Scoobysport, but they were disappointingly unhelpful this morning "grunt, not till October, grunt".

Any other sources? I'm in the south east so ideally somewhere reachable from there, but if delivery is an option then that would do too...

Cheers,
Andy

I hate answering my own questions - but Tyres Northampton just did me a great deal on some Detroit F1s with Toyos.

Cheers,
Andy

Cheers Andy, that seems a good price. I am in the same position as you, MY99 Uk Turbo, tyres need replacing. I was thinking of going from 16 to 17. However now that you have gone the 18 option, when you get the wheels and tyres fitted, would you let me know what you think in terms of driveability etc. Are you getting your brakes upgraded now that you have a bigger wheel?

Thanks.

I'll certainly report back, although I think the "wallet factor" may make my judgement a little less than unbiased!

No plans for new brakes yet...

Mark at Tyres Northampton was who I spoke to, and very helpful he was too - a million miles from the Scoobysport grunting (although I know if I'd have got Pete Croney he would have been much more human!).

Cheers,
Andy

Orded my Proxy T1's (215/40/17) at 78 quid each from Scoobyworld on Weds Pm. Arrived today I've not paid 78 quid a tyre since my old 1.3 Astra. Well Happy.
