Are MY95 Turbo brakes better than MY95 GL brakes?

Ok my GL isn't going all that fast in the first place 
but I'd still like better brakes - preferably ones that don't squeal quite so much, though I realise "they all do that sir".
Are the 2 pots that everyone with early turbos are so eager to upgrade better than the standard brakes on my GL then? If I could find the original brochure I expect that might tell me
