Why do you need one? If subaru thought we should tighten the nuts to +/- X% tolerence, shouldn't the car come with one?

Thumbs up

I think the 1/2 inch drive one would be a bit more meatier for the wheel nuts.

1/2" drive is most suitable for wheel nuts. Buy a long series 19mm socket for it as well so you clear the wheels without extension bars.
We use torqueleader torque wrenches ( made in the U.K ) May be a bit expensive for personal use though.

For WRX track cars we tighten the wheel nuts in three stages. 40 ftlbs x 5 studs, 60ftlbs x 5, then 70ftlbs x 5. The nuts should be tightened in a star pattern. For example with 5 stud wheels every second stud until all 5 are tightened.

Overkill! maybe, but we never have any problems with wheels or rotor distortion from wheel nut tension.
