## If I do buy the Scooby ......##

What tyres would people reccommend for good dry and wet weather driving. (UK turbo 2000, X reg, 4 door)
I like a progressive tyre that has no surprises. Prefer a progressive tyre to a tyre that grips...grips...grips and then just ''goes'' leaving you in deep ****.
Expert opinion (or just people who have been there and know) please.
Cheers Scoobers.

Avon ZZ1's!!!!!
NEVER put these tyres on your car unless you have a death wish
try Toyo Proxy's P1S or if you can get hold of any, some bridgestone so2 pp's.

Get:
Bridgestone SO2/3 - Good grip, not cheap
Goodyear Eagle F1 - Good price, excellent price!
Toyo Proxie TS-1 - Good price, but lacks on the limit grip like the Bridgestones
Don't bother with:
Avon ZZ1 - Cheap and cack in the wet
PZero - Expensive, good in dry, rubbish in the wet
Dunlop SP9000 - Poor in the dry (too hard), ok in the wet
Personal Choice:
16" - Goodyear Eagle F1
17" - Bridgestone SO2/3

I've always used 17" P-zero's, no complaints.
How on earth can you guys tell the difference between P-Zero, Bridgestone and other similar expensive tyres, I probably wouldn't realise if someone swapped my tyres for elastic bands. Do you all drive like nutters?
Chris

I use 17" PZeros and I'm not impressed with them in the wet. However, I don't have experience of anything else to compare them with (yet). I've heard good things from people I trust about F1's and if I was replacing my tyes now that's what I'd get.

Had SO2's on my 16" rims and they were THE BEST! but had to give them up when I got the 17" rims. Have got Pzeros on now and while they are OK for normal to fast road driving, they certainly don't handle so well in the wet and I don't feel so safe with them on the twisty back roads and I wouldn't push them as far as the SO2's.
So - I would recommend SO2's if you can get them - they've been replaced with SO3's now but some places still may have some stocks. Apparently (not speaking from personal experience) the SO3's are nowhere near as good as the SO2's (tramlining) but Pzero's are OK.
...... sorry for long reply - you know what us women can be like when we get talking
