Question

Hello all,

My brother wants to know what are the best brakes to put on his P1. (he's forgot his login..)

He's thinking of Prodrive 330mm kit, but what are his options... he's used to big tanks with bigger brakes, so we need some serious retarding here

Andy, AP 4 Pots are about the same price as the Prodrive kit, but when it comes around to replacing the discs he will save a fortune. The Alcon discs are something like £500, compaired to about £250-300 for a set of AP's discs.

Plus you get a wider choice of pads for the AP units.

The Prodrive kit with braided lines(not supplied) while expensive is very very good. Had it fitted for a while now vast improvment!!

Im guessing the Pro-drive/Alcon kit is warrantied as well which could be a factor.

Danny,
those brembo discs your talking about are 240 quid (well my 305mm ones are anyway) EACH! so your looking at 500 quid.
The AP ones are about 20 quid cheaper per disc so there aint much difference in the end.

There's always the Godspeed conversion. Probably the best value for money big brake kit.

Not trying to round up anyone else for the group buy - honest

Depends on what you want, and what you want to pay.

AP 4's or the Scoobysport AP/Brembo kit are great and should be more than adequate for road use and a bit of track use.

KAD, Godspeed and Hi-Spec doo great 4 pot and 6pot kits as well.

AP 6 pots are awesome as well! but not cheap.

And of course, can't mention brakes without mentioning a nice little movit kit
