Which Pads for AP 6 Pots are recommended?
#1
I've had the AP 6 pots fitted about 5 months now and, thanks to numerous track sessions, have managed to wear the pads down. Time to replace them. Problem is I'm not sure what the pads were because I bought the brakes 2nd hand. Does anyone recommend a particular pad that would suit mainly fast road/track driving? Do 6 Pots need larger pads than 4 pots? Any ideas of places to contact as well would be helpful! I'm not too bothered by cost, would rather get quality that will last.
Cheers.

Johnny, I have the AP 6 pot calipers. They come as standard with Pagid 4-2-1's. I have like you used those up and fitted the DS2500's.
The pads are a little larger than the 4 pots, but then you also have to account for the extra 2 pots.
Prices range from £160 upwards.

Hi Jonny
How you doin mate, sounds like those pads have done well if you are only getting round to changing them now.
AFAIR, when ScoobyMania supplied the brake kit, I asked them the question, what pads came with the kit and they said Pagid, but can't remember for the life of me what part number.
If you drop Scoobymania an email, I am sure they will be able to tell you what Pagid pads they were fitting back in December last year.
Unless of course, you want a change
Cheers mate

Johnny, the pads are ok. Good bite from cold, and not much hint of fade on track.
I have a feeling though that they have eaten my discs. This is yet to be seen. I shall be replacing the discs in the next couple of weeks.

How do you rate the AP brakes overall???

Andy - I've not experienced the 4 pots but cant complain about the 6 Pots which are amazing. I've run at tracks with slicks on and the abs will kick in before the brakes run out of bite, even in the dry, even with a gradaully applied braking force. Just awsome. I got mine second hand from Yorkshire Simon (hiya by the way!) from this very forum, paid £1500. Worth every penny.
