godspeed group buy
#1
Hi Mark,
I have 16inch rims so the 335 won't fit...Ian has two disc options for standard wheels/calipers...either a straight replacement,ie same thickness disc,or a thicker disc which requires a spacer to be fitted in between the two halves of the caliper...Do you know how much Ian charges for fitting....Oh,almost forgot...I have ds2500 ready and waiting..so I don't need pads...

I am organising the group buy as my discs are completed knackered and in much need of renewal. As Ian has said he is limiting the group buy to 10 sets so with mine there will be 9 (ok so muppet maths but just in case). Ian has said he will reduce the price of kits assuming there are 10 by £50.
The standard prices are:
308mm with 4 pots £575 fit 16" wheel
325mm with 4 pots £676 fit 17" wheel
355mm with 4 pots £850 fit 18" wheel
delivery is £10.
For more details and pictures on the discs and pads supplied go to http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/ The calipers come in your choice of colours and discs can be drilled, grooved or both. The prices on the site are lower but wrong, correct prices are as shown above with £50 off if we get 10. He can also do the 335mm disc kit without calipers (need to have subaru 4 pots fitted) for £575 less the discount again.
I have looked at prices for other kits and read peoples opinions of godspeed kits as well as the competitors and think they are excellent value for money and look great. I am waiting for Ian to email regarding how we will proceed with the orders but I am happy for anyone wanting the kit to email me direct when they have decided on size, grooves, drilled etc and colour of calipers and name and address. Once we have 10 intersted people I will email all the details to Ian and everyone can post their payment to Ian with their name which should hopefully save him a lot of time. I will speak to Ian to confirm all of this shortly. Thanks for reading.

Yes please
Spoke to Ian on phone yesterday about potential purchase.
Put me down for the 335mm kit without the calipers.
Grooved only discs and green stuff pads.
No delivery cos I have already asked about fitting.

just a quick update on information, once 10 people have confirmed Ian will need everyone cheques, he will bank them in one go and it will take about 20 working days to do the 10 kits. (approx 4 weeks).
The sooner we have enough people the sooner I can brake properly. Thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest. Obviously the 10 will be on a first come first served basis.
Cheers
Marc

Marc, put me down for the 325mm kit. I'll email you with my colour choices, disc spec, etc. I'm in the USA, but Ian and I have spoken several times, it won't be a problem for him to ship to me. It will cost a tad more than 10 pounds, though! When does the payment need to be made?

As a very satisfied custmer of the last group buy, I recommend you get Ian to fit the kit - for the money its worth him doing it as you know its 100% (and you don't get your knuckles ripped/dirty etc and it will take a fraction of the time !! ).
It also lets you appreciate the guys efforts to meet demands and give all customers 100% service/satisfaction with his product.
(Also brakes perform brilliantly - amazing value for money).

HKP, per my discussions with Ian, the 335mm x 32mm big disc kit that he sells to accompany the OEM 4 pots are the best kit he has for 17" wheels. As for your stock 16" wheels, I'm sure the 2-piece 308mm discs will work with your 16" wheels. Ian will chime in himself, I'm sure.

Marriage is a very expensive idea, that's why I've told girlfriend that we are NOT getting married. She's not overly impressed but nevermind, could always put discs on your wedding list, you never know.

6 sets left, confirmed
Jon W, Rob P and Silversmith
Anyone interested please post as my brakes are getting steadily worse, I suppose they were never that good anyway but I'd like knew ones soon. Cheers

Marc,
I am very interested but am not sure which kit to go for, I have 17" wheels and subaru 4 pots so logically you would say that the 335mm 'disk only' kit is the obvious choice, however, I still have my original 16" wheels and was considering using them for the odd track day in which case I would go for the 308mm 'full' kit.
I suppose I need to know how the braking performance of the 335mm kit with Subaru calipers compares with the 308mm kit with Godspeeds calipers and for that matter how these compare to AP or Brembo kits for 16" wheels.
Also to factor into all this is just how good the 335mm kit will look behind my Superleggeras
Confused of Preston...

Andrew, performance wise I couldn't tell you although generally bigger discs are going to be better then smaller, for a better answer if you follow the link to godspeed on page one and email Ian he will be able to better answer your questions, alternatively Ian often comes on the forum so he may post a response. Jase the prices are more expensive then the previous group buy as Ian has put his prices up, although still a good price for the product. Sorry I couldn't answer your question better Andrew, I have 17's but am going for the 16" disc set and I only have 2 pots so my brakes will be a lot better then my current set up.
