Default Brakes OE or Godspeed

Looking at replacing both front and rear brake discs and pads, Godspeed do them for £235/£255. Are OE ones more expensive, I presume they are but could be wrong. 05 WRX 300. Anyone know please?

I've ran godspeed g-hook discs and pf-pads for 2 years now without any issues. Ian also rebuilt and powder coated my brembos for me.
I also have Goodrich brake hoses and dot 5.1 fluid. Cant fault the braking at all.
top service from godspeed

Cheers Shreksta, do you not rate the Kevlar pads that they sell in the package, just wondering why you chose not to use them.

ive never tried them and as my car is 350bhp/400ftlbs and im looking at increasing the power i wanted something more mid-table rather than bargain basement if that makes sense.

I ran the Kevlar pads on mine first they were ok can’t say they were much better than what was on there, I stupidly did a track day with them, they didn’t last 20 minutes.
I’m now running pfc z they are much better

I've got the godspeed kit all round on WRX calipers, they're great for road use. Progressive feel and can easily lock the wheels up on Michelin PS4s if need be.

The anti-corrosion coating on the non contact surfaces on the discs has held up well for a year of daily driving as well.

Both utterly useless for track. I’m obviously hard on brakes and I also found the both useless for anything other than town/sensible driving.

Pads suited to a track temperature range are usually not as good for typical road use.

Feel and stopping distance are often not as related as people think. I've seen first hand examples of OEMs fitting pads that are cheaper and have lots of initial bite but overall longer stopping distances because the press and public only equate the hard initial bite as "better brakes".

I have no experience using these on track, but I don't doubt they're unsuited to it as they're being sold as street pads & discs.

Yes they are utterly useless for hard track driving , but then we never sell them for that use , we tell people if they are doing track days , you will need at least a harder front pad , or harder use good pads front and rear.
We do have customers who say they like to do the odd track day , and driving at say 5/10ths , they would probably get a few laps out of the kevlar pads.

Kevlar pads are aimed at those who use there cars as everyday drives , school run , work , shopping ect , and like a bit of a run out now and again

Cheers Ian

I’ve just had godspeed discs & pads on my hawk wrx, 340/370. Stop well. Push them and they will start to fade. They have just started to squeek slightly which sucks. But they do work great for normal road use 👍

The kevlar pads are not known as a squeeky pad , they are generally quiet , it might just be extra dust they give off during the bedding in process , once done they should be quiet , did you use either copper slip or ceratech paste on the backs and sides of the pads , this will help keep a pad quiet as well
Cheers Ian
