Unhappy

My brakes used to be great (GrpN disks, DS4300 pads, braided hoses, brake support bracket) but now they're not!
No initial bite from cold and I have to stand on them to get serious braking. Only one year old and 6500 miles.
Any ideas?

Come on you brake Gurus! Does it sound like they need bleeding? Or could the pads be glazed? Or is it something else? Help please!

It is either the fluid needs changing or the pads have glazed over , Bleed the system with new fluid and take the pads out and rub them over with a medium emery cloth to take off the shiny look , Cheers Ian

If your rotor braking surfaces are blackened and have a glass looking surface on them, they are glazed. Rub your pads back as Ian said and rough up the surface of the rotors as well with emery cloth to remove some of the blackened surface.

Most Subaru's work best with slotted rotors which keep the glazing to a minimum.

Steve
