Question

Hi,

I thought that the front disc dimensions changed from 277 to 294mm in MY99, but each manufacturer (Tarox, EBC, Pagid, Mintex) seem to change the part numbers at different times.
EG in Demon Tweeks catalogue Greenstuff front pads are banded 91-94, 94-96 and 96 on. But at NFS it's 94-96 and 96-98. (discs 94-98 and 98-on)
G-force go 94-97 and 97-on. Pagid are 94-on. (but 94-97 and 97-00 at NFS) Red Dot 92-96 and 96-on. Mintex are to-97. OMP 94-97 and 97 on.HELP!

Manufacturers parts for rear discs also seem to change at varying years either 96, 97 or 98, but I thought the dimensions remained constant.

Does anyone actually know the truth!?

I stand to be corrected but.

The Subaru front callipers changed at the facelift in 1997 to a different design but disc diameter remained the same, but pads size changed. In MY99, the front callipers changed to the familiar 4 pots and the bigger diameter disc.

That's why the difference.

Don't know about pre94 to be honest. In my Demon Tweeks catalogue
the greenstuff are rated 91-96, 96-98 and 98 on. Think this should really say 92-96 97-98 99 on.

On the rears, diameter remained the same I think but they changed to vented at 99 I think.

Cheers

Rich

Thanks Rich, seems logical and straight-forward, but most manufacturers change their disc part numbers around 96 or 97 as well as the pads.

Strangely Red Dot don't change their disc size after 96, others list 2-pot 97-00.

I think there are 3 sources of confusion:

The banding of years inclusively (94-96 and 96-99 rather than 94-96 and 96-on)

MY numbers rather than year of manufacture for SOME listings

Use of the phrase 96-on (which may have been valid for a catalogue in 1998 but not updated for changes in 99).
