hopefully not kevlar, if you like a spirited drive every now and then. I bought them and quickly regretted it. Brake hard for more than three bends in a row and they fade something awful! i'm now waiting for them to wear out so i can justify buying something else.

However! If you dont like a spirited drive, and just want a decent bite from cold, then they might be ok for you.

I went for Porterfield R4S after a conversation with a well know Supra tuner.
Great fast road pads, no squeel, no dust ...100% pleased...

I was just advised by a Subaru main dealer that I needed front pads and discs, cost of £350. Can anyone advise if these should be changed at the same time, or if it is OK to just change the pads please?

Blobeye 2005 WRX by the way!

OK, have checked and it says they are getting a bit thin. Am looking on your website and have selected the following:
Newage Front Discs 295mm (Vented) - Brand:SWRD - 8 Groove 295mm

Black Diamond Predator Pads (Fast Road) - Model:PP372 Impreza 2.0/2.5 WRX 2000> Front

Can you confirm that looks OK for a WRX 2005 standard setup. I take it those pads aren't too soft, I want something that's going to last preferably.

Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul,

Our discs are a really high quality disc that now comes with a NO QUIBBLE warranty.

Pad wise i would ask what are you currently running, if oem then the Black Diamond Predator pads will be an upgrade as they are a basic first level fast road pad. That said they are an entry level fast road pad but it is our most popular package with our SWRD discs and those Predator pads.

For me on value for money you cant beat that setup but if your looking for something that will give you more my personal favorite is the SWRD discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads found here http://www.scoobyworx.com/4-pot-fron...age-2330-p.asp but they are £268.40 compared with the £137.24 for the ones you looked at.

It also depends how you drive you car and what you plan on doing going forward and whether you plan any track days etc.

If its just fast road then the SWRD-Predator package will be ample

Cheers Darrell, thanks for all the info. I've only had the car a year and presume that they are standard pads, they feel a bit spongy compared to my old classic.

I'll go for the ones I said I think, as I'm a bit old to be driving too fast! Is there anything else I need to buy for a local garage to fit them, or is it just discs and pads?

Yes unless your pad fitting kit needs replacing which is available here
